Look into | Look over | "The Bear"

Hello my friend, thank you for being here. I am soooo sorry that I didn´t send this on friday, this past week was pretty hectic. Pero ya estoy aquí, gracias por tu paciencia.
This was an interesting week since I gave my first workshop at a company in which I talked about being more efficient when speaking in English in meetings. And on thursday I led the Canteen which is an event from Mindshop Society where we talked about the Role of language in mass movements.

Has language influenced you?
“If you change the way you see things, the things you see change.” - Wayne Dyer.
One of my favorite quotes, although sounds easier said than done it actually makes a lot of sense., and you can prove that with the following exercise:
Try watching the news, those tabloid news full of negative things happening around the world, watch them for a week and I assure you will start seeing negativity everywhere.
So, the important thing to focus on about our languge is to develop that skill of analysing what to believe in and what not to. This skill is called crititcal thinking were instead of just believing, following or even sharing something we consume we must question at least why.
Have you ever analyzed how the words you tell yourself constantly shape and define the way you perceive your reality?
That’s why I wanted to bring this topic to you so you can actually stop for a second and reflect how has certain words, phrases or ideas shaped your reality. Maybe your mom used to repeat a word which you saved and now whenever you listen to it or use it a connotation is already assigned to it, whether is negative or positive.
So, give it a thought make an introspection and let me know your thoughts.
Vocabulary and Phrases
This week’s phrasal verbs are:
Look over: Review or inspect a document or proposal.
Example: Please look over the contract and let me know if you have any questions.
Look into: Investigate or examine a situation or problem.
Example: We need to look into the reasons behind the recent sales decline.
Most of the time the phrase you wanna say in english could be shorter. Here are a couple examples:
In order to → To
Example: "I study hard in order to pass my exams." -> "I study hard to pass my exams."
With regard to → Regarding or About
Example: "With regard to your request, we will need more information." -> "Regarding your request, we will need more information."
On a daily basis → Daily
Example: "I check my email on a daily basis to stay updated." -> "I check my email daily to stay updated."
Updates
To watch:
Comencé a ver la serie “The Bear” que está en Star+ y tiene muy buen plot, drama y sobre todo diálogos que te van a ayudar a practicar inglés, eso si vela mínimo con subtítulos en inglés y te reto a verla sin subtítulos.
Hablando sobre cómo el lenguaje influye en tu realidad te dejo aquí este video donde analizan el discurso de Donald Trump.
